WARRIORS CHOIR
WARRIOR'S CHOIR
FREE YOUR VOICE.
IT HOLDS ALL YOUR STORIES.
WHY WARRIOR'S CHOIR?
It's a warriors cry to our inner selves.
The spirits that yearn to be free.
The community we want to be a part of yet struggle to connect with.
The collective healing that needs to be done.
The universal language.
To Mother Nature, the greatest warrior of all.
To stomp your feet on the earth, clap and sing.
To gather with likeminded people and share in something that leaves us feeling connected and the load lighter.
To let the wildness be expressed without shame.
To sing with our authentic voices.
To show our children, all people can come together and connect.
Warrior's Choir is for all human beings, adult or child.
This isn't about learning songs.
It's about making sounds.
Simple chants.
Short lines you don't have to work to remember
and
your body as percussion.
Collective voices sound like
a prayer
freedom
answers.
It feels like
healing
community
love
wildness
connection
being alive.

HOW DID I GET HERE?
For years I was in bands, singing, playing piano and guitar.
I wrote my own music, did the tour circuit then quit because it's a slog to make a living, to feel heard and gain recognition.
The music industry kickstarted mega waves of imposter syndrome and 'you're not good enough' inner talk that left me silent for years.
After attending choirs in the last 3 years promising myself I will 'regain my voice', I
then experienced Tilly Kay's Soul Kitchen Choir at Wild Village Festival.
It cracked me open and the need to sing with others and reclaim this part of myself rose from the depths.
Then I heard Allison Davies (a music therapist amongst other amazing things), say she no longer prepares for a performance, she simply shows up with her voice as it is, authentic in that moment. I thought that was brave.
I realised I was waiting for something that may never come. That my voice had gone through a huge amount of experiences; I was older, I had borne children, I had met my edges. It's the voice that holds my story.
I have been singing at most of my workshops and programs since 2017 and I thought WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?!
